Test B: Theft Indicator Light Is Always/Never On - No 3 Second Delay Or No Theft Indicator Light Prove Out

  1. Connect WDS or NGS tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below center of instrument panel, right of steering column, right of steering column. Using NGS tester, trigger instrument cluster active command THEFT LMP to ON. If THEFT indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If THEFT indicator illuminates, THEFT indicator is functioning properly at this time.
  2. Remove instrument cluster and access THEFT indicator LED. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure resistance between LED terminals in both directions. Resistance should be more than 10 k/ohms in one direction, and 10-20 ohms with test leads reversed. If resistance is as specified, replace instrument cluster, repeat self-test and clear DTCs. If resistance is not as specified, replace LED. Clear DTCs and repeat self-test.
