Test A: No Communication With Instrument Cluster

- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect 20-pin instrument cluster harness connector C220a. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and C220a instrument cluster harness connector terminals No. 2 (Red/Light Green wire), No. 10 (Red/White wire) and No. 11 (Gray/Yellow wire). See Fig 1. If battery voltage exists at all 3 terminals, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist at any terminal, repair open in appropriate wire between central junction box and instrument cluster. - Turn switch to LOCK position. Measure resistance between ground and 20-pin instrument cluster harness connector C220a terminal No. 1 (Black wire). See Fig 1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire between instrument cluster and ground. Ground point is located in right kick panel. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
