Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the seat from the vehicle. For additional information, refer to REAR SEAT - 20 PERCENT, SECOND ROW .
  2. Remove the 3 screws and the latch trim covers.
  3. Remove the 3 screws and the pivot latch trim covers.
  4. Remove the release handle cable.
    1. Pinch to release the retainer clip.
    2. Remove the cable end hook from the retaining hole.
    3. Position the cable to the side.

  5. Release the seat backrest J-clip. Remove all the staples and lift the material to expose the backrest nut and bolts.
  6. Remove the safety belt buckle and retractor belt anchor bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  7. Remove the 2 upper latch bolts
    • To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  8. Remove the backrest pivot nut.
    • To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  9. Remove the backrest.
  10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
