Removal (Without Seat Integrated Restraints)

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
  2. On regular cab models, use Seat Bolt Bit (501-010) to remove seat belt lower anchor bolt. Remove seat belt retractor pretensioner upper mounting bolt. Using seat bolt bit, remove seat belt retractor pretensioner lower mounting bolt.
  3. On SuperCab models, remove seat belt shoulder height adjuster comer pin-type retainer. Position shoulder height adjuster down and remove anchor bolt. Remove seat belt retractor pretensioner lower mounting bolt and position seat belt retractor pretensioner aside. Remove seat belt lower anchor bolt.
  4. On Crew Cab and Excursion models, use seat bolt bit to remove seat belt lower anchor bolt. Using seat bolt bit, remove seat belt retractor pretensioner mounting bolt. On all models, remove seat belt retractor pretensioner.
