Test Procedure

AR1 PRELIMINARY DIAGNOSIS FOR DTC P0300

Retrieve and record all DTCs.
Record the freeze frame data.
Clear all DTCs.
Carry out the continuous self-test.

Are any DTCs present?

Yes	No
For DTC P0300, GO to AR2. For all other DTCs, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) DESCRIPTIONS .	The misfire is intermittent and is currently not active. REFER to SYMPTOM CHARTS - 6.0L DIESEL if a driveability concern exists.

AR2 DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) P0300

Possible causes:

fuel concern
oil aeration
high pressure oil pump malfunction
fuel injector(s)
mechanical engine failure
electrical failure
Carry out a visual inspection. Check for loose connections, and damaged or corroded pins. Wiggle the harness, attempting to recreate the fault.

Are any wiring or terminal concerns present?

Yes	No
REPAIR as necessary. CLEAR the DTCs. CARRY OUT the OBD drive cycle. REFER to DIAGNOSTIC METHODS - EXCURSION (6.0L DIESEL) .	REFER to DIAGNOSTIC SUBROUTINES - 6.0L DIESEL Performance Diagnostics Chart. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
