Signal Function

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2005 Ford RV Cutaway, 2005 Ford Pickup, 2005 Ford F550 Super Duty, 2005 Ford F450 Super Duty, and 2005 Ford Excursion. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The injector control pressure (ICP) is controlled by the injection pressure regulator (IPR). The powertrain control module (PCM) uses many input variables to determine the desired control pressure.

Battery voltage is supplied to the IPR when the ignition switch is in the ON position. The valve position is controlled by switching the output signal circuit to ground. The ON/OFF time is modulated from 0% to 65%, depending upon the desired control pressure.
