Clearing Codes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Mercury Villager. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

After repairs are completed, return the diagnostic monitor to User Mode. See SWITCHING FROM DIAGNOSIS MODE TO USER MODE . This will automatically erase any codes from memory which have been resolved.

If the system is not completely repaired, information stored in memory will not be erased. If codes are still present, return to Diagnosis Mode and make additional repairs.
