Test D: Moon Roof Inoperative
NOTE:
Fuse No. 21 also supplies power window circuit.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove fuse No. 21 (40-amp) from Central Junction Box (CJB) and inspect. If fuse is okay, install fuse and go to next step. If fuse is blown, replace fuse and test system operation. If fuse fails again, repair short to ground in Violet/Black wire or power distribution circuit. See POWER DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
- Disconnect moon roof control switch harness connector C3009. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between moon roof control switch harness connector C3009 terminal No. 2 (Violet/Blue wire) and ground. See Fig 1 . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step 8 .
- Measure resistance between moon roof control switch harness connector C3009 terminal No. 3 (Black wire) and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to step 10 .
- Disconnect moon roof control module harness connector C748b. Measure resistance in Black wire between connector C748b terminal No. 1 and moon roof control switch harness connector C3009 terminal No. 6. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire.
- Measure resistance in Yellow wire between moon roof control module harness connector C748b terminal No. 3 and moon roof control switch harness connector C3009 terminal No. 1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Yellow wire.
- Measure resistance in White/Blue wire between moon roof control module harness connector C748b terminal No. 2 and moon roof control switch harness connector C3009 terminal No. 7. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in White/Blue wire.
- Test moon roof control switch. See MOON ROOF CONTROL SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS. If moon roof control switch is okay, replace moon roof control module. If moon roof control switch is faulty, replace moon roof control switch.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect moon roof control module harness connector C748a. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between moon roof control module harness connector terminal No. 1 (Green/Black wire) and ground. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open or short to ground in Green/Black wire.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect moon roof control module harness connector C748b. Measure resistance in Violet/Blue wire between moon roof control switch harness connector C3009 terminal No. 2 and moon roof control module harness connector C748b terminal No. 5. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace moon roof control module. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect moon roof control module harness connector C748a. Measure resistance between moon roof control module harness connector C748a terminal No. 5 (Black wire) and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire.
- Measure resistance in Black wire between moon roof control module harness connector C748b terminal No. 4 and moon roof control switch harness connector C3009 terminal No. 3. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace moon roof control module. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire.
