Pinpoint Test X: The Rear Wiper Wash And Wipe Function Does Not Operate

  1. X1 CHECK THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Multifunction Switch C202a.
    • Carry out the multifunction switch component test.

      Refer to COMPONENT TESTING for schematic and connector information.

    • Did the multifunction switch pass the component test? 

    Yes 

    GO to X2.

    No 

    INSTALL a new multifunction switch. REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES .

  2. X2 CHECK CIRCUIT 1302 (WH/LG) FOR OPEN 
    • Measure the resistance between C202a-4, circuit 1302 (WH/LG), harness side and ground.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 

    Yes 

    GO to X3.

    No 

    REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

  3. X3 CHECK CIRCUIT 410 (WH/OG) FOR OPEN 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Rear Window Wiper Motor C4171.
    • Measure the resistance between C202a-8, circuit 410 (WH/OG), harness side and C4171-4, circuit 410 (WH/OG), harness side.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 

    Yes 

    Go To PINPOINT TEST Y .

    No 

    REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
