Test E: Oil Pressure Warning Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If instrument cluster warning indicators and gauges are operating, go to next step. If instrument cluster warning indicators and gauges are not operating, perform TEST A: WARNING LIGHTS & GAUGES INOPERATIVE  .
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect oil pressure switch harness connector C953. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at Black/Green wire terminal at oil pressure switch harness connector C953. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, replace oil pressure switch.
  3. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector C808B. Measure resistance in Black/Green wire between oil pressure switch harness connector C953 and terminal No. 1 at instrument cluster harness connector C808B. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, check oil pressure indicator bulb and replace as necessary. If bulb is okay, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Green wire.
