Test C: Height Sensor Circuit Short To Ground
- Check Sensor Connections
Disconnect and inspect height sensor connectors for corrosion, damaged pins or wiring. Repair or replace as necessary. Go to next step.
- Check Circuit Short To Ground
Disconnect SARC module connectors. Disconnect suspect height sensor connector. Check resistance of circuits 423 (Purple/Light Green), 425 (Brown/Black), 427 (Pink/Black), 428 (Orange/Black), between sensor connector and ground. If resistance is less than 10,000 ohms, repair short to ground. Repeat self test. See SELF TEST
. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or more, go to next step.
- Check For Short To Circuit 430 (Gray)
Disconnect suspect height sensor connector. Check resistance between circuits 423 (Purple/Light Green), 425 (Brown/Black), 427 (Pink/Black), 428 (Orange/Black), and circuit 430 (Gray). If resistance is less than 10,000 ohms, repair short. Repeat self test. See SELF TEST
. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or more, go to next step.
- Check Height Sensor Voltage
Reconnect SARC module connectors. Disconnect suspect sensor. Using NGS tester, turn on sensor power using ACTIVE COMMAND MODE test, SUSPENSION DIAGNOSTIC CONTROL, HT SENSOR POWER: ON. Check voltage between circuit 423 (Purple/Light Green), 425 (Brown/Black), 427 (Pink/Black), 428 (Orange/Black), and ground.If voltage is 2.3-2.7 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not 2.3-2.7 volts, replace SARC module.
- Check Sensor For Internal Short
Reconnect height sensor and SARC module. Using NGS tester, turn on sensor power using ACTIVE COMMAND MODE test, SUSPENSION DIAGNOSTIC CONTROL, HT SENSOR POWER: ON. Backprobing SARC module, check voltage between circuit 423 (Purple/Light Green), 425 (Brown/Black), 427 (Pink/Black), 428 (Orange/Black), and circuit 432 (Black/Pink). See Figure
. If voltage is more than .5 volt, go to TEST B
. If voltage is .5 volts or less, replace sensor. Repeat self test. See SELF TEST
