Removal & Installation: Camshaft: Installation

- Lubricate camshaft lobes and bearing surfaces with Oil Conditioner (D9AZ-19579-D). Install camshaft carefully to prevent damaging bearings and journal surfaces. Install thrust plate so it covers main oil gallery. See Figure.
- Ensure camshaft end play is within specification. See CAMSHAFT table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS. Remove camshaft position sensor. Remove camshaft position sensor synchronizer assembly. See CMP SYNCHRONIZER . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS table. Fill and bleed cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING .
