Axle Shaft: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Install steering knuckle. See STEERING KNUCKLE  . Install axle shaft in hub assembly as far as possible. Install rotor on hub (if removed), and secure with 2 wheel lug nuts. Install NEW axle shaft hub nut and tighten finger tight.
  2. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Ensure reference marks are aligned on axle shaft flange and drive axle flange. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table. DO NOT use impact wrench to tighten axle shaft hub nut. Lower vehicle and tighten NEW axle shaft hub nut to specification.
