Pinpoint Test HJ - Low Oil Pressure Warning Is Never/Always On

  1. Turn ignition on. Observe EIC display. If warning is always on, go to next step. If warning is never on, go to step 4.
  2. Disconnect wire at oil pressure sender, located above oil filter. Turn ignition on. If warning appears, go to next step. Replace oil pressure sender if oil pressure warning does not appear.
  3. Remove EIC. See ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (EIC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Inspect White/Red wire for continuity between EIC connector C256 pin No. 8 (White/Red wire) and oil pressure switch. If continuity exists, replace EIC. See Figure . Repair White/Red wire if continuity does not exist.
  4. Perform step 4) of PINPOINT TEST HA  . If all voltages are as specified, go to next step. Repair appropriate wire if voltages are not as specified.
  5. Turn ignition off. Unplug oil pressure switch connector. Connect jumper wire between White/Red wire at harness connector and ground. If warning is not on, go to next step. Turn ignition on. If warning is now on, replace oil pressure switch. 6) Remove jumper wire. Inspect White/Red wire for continuity between EIC connector C256 pin No. 8 (White/Red wire) and oil pressure switch. If continuity exists, replace EIC. Repair White/Red wire if continuity does not exist.
