Pinpoint Test Ha - Door Ajar Warning Never/Always On

  1. Turn ignition on. Wait until panel prove-out is completed. Check whether door ajar warning is always or never on. If warning is always on, go to next step. If warning is not always on, go to step 4).
  2. Turn ignition off to reset warning. Unplug connector from driver's door warning switch. Turn ignition on. Check message center for warning. Repeat step for passenger's door, then rear doors, until warning is no longer displayed, or until all switches are disconnected. If warning remains on, go to next step. If warning goes out after disconnecting a switch, replace switch.
  3. Turn ignition off. Unplug EIC. Inspect Black/Orange wire at C255 connector pin No. 24 for short to ground. Repair Black/Orange wire as necessary. If wire is okay, replace EIC.
  4. Check for voltage at the following EIC connector terminals. See EIC POWER & GROUND table. Repair appropriate wire if voltages are not as specified. If directed to this step from another PINPOINT TEST, return to that test. If all voltages are as specified, go to next step.

    Connector/Pin Wire Color Voltage
    C254-3 White/Purple (1) Battery Voltage
    C254-5 Light Blue/Pink (2) Battery Voltage
    C254-12 Pink/Black (2) Battery Voltage
    C256-2 Light Blue/Pink (2) Battery Voltage
    C254-4 Pink/Orange Zero Voltage
    C256-1 Pink/Orange Zero Voltage
    (1) At all times.
    (2) With ignition on.
  5. Turn ignition off. Unplug connector from door switch with problem. Connect jumper wire from Black/Orange wire at harness connector to ground. Turn ignition on. If warning does not appear, remove jumper wire and go to next step. If warning message now appears, replace defective switch.
  6. Turn ignition off. Unplug connectors from EIC. Check for open in Black/Orange wire between C255 connector pin No. 24 and door switches. See Figure . Repair wire as necessary. If wire is okay, replace EIC.
