  2. From left side of vehicle, install pinion angle level gauge on "V" magnet. Using adjusting screw, adjust dial until left side of bubble is on zero line. Remove pinion angle level gauge from "V" magnet.
  3. Install pinion angle level gauge on universal joint bearing cap in same relative position as it was on "V" magnet. On Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis and Town Car, install pinion angle level gauge on bearing cap of circular flange.
NOTE: Circular flange bearing cap snap ring must be removed and reinstalled after reading is completed.
  4. Read position of bubble's left hand edge on scale to determine universal joint angle. Angle must be adjusted if not within specification. See UNIVERSAL JOINT ANGLE & RIDING HEIGHT SPECIFICATIONS  table. If angle requires adjustment, install new upper control arms equipped with adjustable cams (if available).
