Fuel Computer Display Scrambled, Segments Half Lit, Segments Missing, Incorrect Display, Display Stuck W/All Segments On

  1. Place ignition switch in "RUN" position. Observe fuel computer display. Go to next step if all segments come on, go off and then return to normal. If not, replace fuel computer module.
  2. Hold "FUEL ECON" button in and turn ignition switch from "OFF" to "RUN" position. Observe zeroes on upper digital display and then release "FUEL ECON" button. If "F" is displayed, replace fuel computer module.
  3. If display does not go into self-test mode (no zeroes displayed), "FUEL ECON" button was not held down properly, or button is damaged. Go to SWITCH TEST (MODULE DOES NOT RESPOND TO BUTTONS) test. If display has "P" on it, go to next step.
  4. Enter self-test mode as in step 2). Advance to display test portion (test 12) of self-test by pressing "FUEL ECON" button until display No. 1 appears. See FUEL COMPUTER/SYSTEM SCANNER MODULE SELF-TEST DISPLAYS.
  5. Inspect display for problems as test is advanced through each step by pressing "FUEL ECON" button. Ensure displays match illustrations. If okay, system is working properly. If not, replace fuel computer module.
