DTE Always Reads "0" Miles

  1. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in this article. Check continuity of pin "16A" to fuel sending unit. If okay, go to next step. If not, repair open in circuit wiring as necessary.
  2. Measure fuel sending unit resistance between pin "16A" and pin "10A" (ground). With tank full, reading should be less than 5 ohms resistance. With tank empty, reading should be more than 140 ohms resistance. If okay, replace fuel computer module. If not, repair circuit wiring or replace fuel sending unit.
