Speedometer Constantly Reads Too High Or Too Low

  1. Test drive vehicle over a known distance and compare odometer reading with distance travelled. If reading is close to distance travelled, system is okay. If not, go to next step.
  2. Remove speed sensor from transmission and verify that correct speed sensor drive gear is installed. If correct, go to next step. If not, install correct drive gear and retaining clip.
  3. Check that correct drive gear is installed on transmission output shaft. If correct, replace speedometer module. If incorrect, install correct output shaft drive gear.
