Speed Alarm Won't Set, Doesn't Respond To Speed Alarm Button

  1. With vehicle moving at less than 20 MPH (32 km/h), speed alarm will not set and button will not beep. If correct, system is okay. If not, go to next step.
  2. With vehicle moving at least 20 MPH (32 km/h), press "SPEED ALARM" button and listen for beep. If beep is heard, replace speedometer module. If not, go to next step.
  3. Remove trim panel to expose cluster. Verify that connector from switch to electronic instrument cluster is secure and properly aligned. If okay, go to next step. If not, repair connector as required and recheck.
  4. Remove switch module assembly and perform SWITCH TEST (MODULE DOES NOT RESPOND TO BUTTONS) test. If okay, replace speedometer module. If not, replace switch assembly.
