Center, Electronic Vehicle Information: Description
The Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) features a driver-interactive and reconfigurable display that is integral to the electronic display unit located in the center of the Instrument Cluster (IC) (also known as the Instrument Panel Cluster/IPC). The EVIC includes provisions for the following available features:
- System Status
- Vehicle Information Warning Message Displays
- Personal Settings (Customer-Programmable Features)
- Outside Temperature Display
- Trip Computer Functions
The display modes of the EVIC can be navigated by using the trip mode button. Once the display mode is set to the picture of the vehicle, using the EVIC push button switches located in the IC switch module (1) located just to the right of the IC allow the customer to view and change the menu options. The plus (+ ) button (2) and minus (- ) button (3) are used to scroll up or down through the various menus or entries in an EVIC menu, while the menu/escape (MENU/ESC ) button (4) is used to exit an EVIC menu.
The EVIC electronic display unit is integral to the IC unit. If the EVIC is damaged or ineffective, the entire IC unit must be replaced. Refer to REMOVAL .
