Hands Free Phone

A Bluetooth® Hands Free Phone system (also known as the Blue&Me™ Bluetooth® phone system) based upon the Windows Mobile™ operating system is available factory-installed equipment. This system allows hands free use of compatible mobile phones for sending and receiving phone calls or text messages using either voice commands or controls on the steering wheel. The Hands Free Phone system includes the following major components, which are described in more detail elsewhere in this service information:

• Bluetooth® Antenna  - A Bluetooth® antenna is internal and integral to the Radio Receiver Module (RRM). Refer to RADIO, DESCRIPTION .
• Bluetooth® Phone  - A compatible, customer-supplied and paired Bluetooth® phone is a required component of the hands free phone system. A list of suggested phones and providers is available at: https://www.driveuconnect.com 
• Body Control Module  - The Body Control Module (BCM) is located on the instrument panel structural support within the passenger compartment, where it is concealed behind the instrument panel to the left of the steering column. The BCM serves as a gateway between many of the Bluetooth® Hands Free Phone system component inputs and outputs. The BCM is also the configuration master node for the vehicle. • Instrument Panel Cluster  - The electronic message display of the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) displays messages indicating the operating mode and status of the Bluetooth® Hands Free Phone system. Refer to CENTER, ELECTRONIC VEHICLE INFORMATION, DESCRIPTION .
• Microphone  - A microphone is integral to the courtesy lamp unit in the headliner near the center of the upper windshield opening header panel in vehicles equipped with the Bluetooth® Hands Free Phone system. Refer to MICROPHONE, DESCRIPTION  .
• Radio Receiver Module  - The Radio Receiver Module (RRM) is located near the top of the instrument panel center stack area. The RRM provides audio output for the Bluetooth® transceiver as well as for other media devices connected through the powered Universal Serial Bus (USB) interface port included with the Bluetooth® Hands Free Phone system. • Steering Wheel Speed Control And Blue&Me™ Switch Pods  - The steering wheel switch pods are located in the left and right horizontal spokes of the steering wheel. These switch pods may contain speed control, remote radio, VR and Bluetooth® Hands Free Phone system switch functions. Refer to SWITCH, SPEED CONTROL, DESCRIPTION .
• Universal Serial Bus Interface Port  - A powered Universal Serial Bus (USB) interface port is included with the Bluetooth® Hands Free Phone system for connecting a media player for the playback of audio media through the audio system of the vehicle. The USB port is located near the cigar lighter housing near the front of the center floor console.

The Bluetooth® Hands Free Phone system components cannot be adjusted or repaired. If any Hands Free Phone system component is damaged or ineffective, that component must be replaced. The Hands Free Phone system software is flash programmable through the USB port.
