Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on and open one of the front doors.NOTE:
A front door must remain open whenever checking or erasing Entertainment Telematic Module (ETM/LTM) DTCs.
- With the scan tool, record and erase the ETM DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition switch from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on.
- Turn the Radio on and set the volume to 25.
- Adjust the speakers to the front and center.
- With the scan tool, read ETM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension. If no problems are found, test complete.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST

- Turn the ignition on and open one of the front doors.
- CHECK THE AMPLIFIER
- Make sure one of the front doors is still open.
- With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Amplifier C1 harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Turn the ETM on and set the volume to 25.
- With the scan tool, read ETM DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Replace the Amplifier in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to AMPLIFIER, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST

- CHECK THE (X53) LEFT FRONT AUDIO (+) CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the ETM C1 harness connector.
- Check for continuity between ground and the (X53) Left Front Audio (+) circuit at the Radio C1 harness connector.
Is there continuity between ground and the (X53) Left Front Audio (+) circuit?
Yes
- Repair the (X53) Left Front Audio (+) circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST

No
- Go To 4
- CHECK THE (X55) LEFT FRONT AUDIO (-) CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Check for continuity between ground and the (X55) Left Front Audio (-) circuit at the Radio C1 harness connector.
Is there continuity between ground and the (X55) Left Front Audio (-) circuit?
Yes
- Repair the (X55) Left Front Audio (-) for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST

No
- Replace the ETM in accordance to the service information. Refer to RADIO, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST

- Check for continuity between ground and the (X55) Left Front Audio (-) circuit at the Radio C1 harness connector.
