Cable, Gearshift Control: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Install gearshift cable assembly through floor pan opening.
  2. Route the gearshift cable assembly into engine compartment and over transaxle assembly.
  3. Raise the vehicle.
  4. Install the gearshift cable assembly grommet into the opening in the floor pan, seat the grommet completely.
  5. Reposition the underbody heat shield.

  6. Install the gearshift cable to the bracket and install the clip (1).
  7. Lower the vehicle.

  8. Connect the cable to the mounting bracket (1).

  9. Connect the shifter cable to the shift lever.

  10. Connect the shifter selector cable to the selector lever.
  11. Install the battery tray assembly. Refer to TRAY, BATTERY, INSTALLATION .

  12. Install the horse shoe reinforcement bracket, tighten the bolts to 30 N.m (22 ft. lbs.).
  13. Install the shifter. Refer to MECHANISM, GEARSHIFT, INSTALLATION .
