Latch, Door: Removal

  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to PANEL, DOOR TRIM, REMOVAL .
  2. Looking in from behind the door trim panel, disconnect the latch rod (1) from the interior latch handle (3).
  3. If necessary, remove the fasteners (2) securing the interior latch handle (3) to the door trim panel.

  4. Remove the watershield from the door. Refer to WATERSHIELD, DOOR, REMOVAL .
  5. Detach the glass from the regulator and remove the rear glass run. Refer to GLASS, DOOR, REMOVAL .
  6. Looking in through the rear access hole in the door, disconnect the electrical harness from the latch.
  7. Disconnect the latch rod (1) from the latch clip (2).

  8. Detach the latch rod cable (1) from the retaining clip on the door.
  9. Remove the fasteners (3) securing the latch (2) to the door.
  10. Remove the latch (2) from the door.
