DECKLID/Hatch/Liftgate/Tailgate/Swing Gate: Liftgate: Installation

WARNING:
On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12-volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12-volt system. You must perform the 12-volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- With the help of an assistant and using the reference marks, align and position the liftgate (1) onto the vehicle.
- Install the fasteners (2) securing the tailgate (1) to the vehicle. Tighten the fasteners to 34 N-m (25 ft. lbs).
- Install the prop rods. Refer to PROP, GAS, INSTALLATION .
- Raise the headliner into position and install the push pin fasteners in the rear area.
- Install the coat hooks.
- Install the B-pillar trim. Refer to PANEL, B-PILLAR TRIM, INSTALLATION .
- Install the C-pillar trim. Refer to PANEL, C-PILLAR TRIM, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the washer hose/liftgate harness and install the boot (1).
- On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, power up the 12 volt system. Refer to 12 VOLT POWER UP .
- Connect the 12-volt negative battery cable.
- Close the liftgate.
