DECKLID/Hatch/Liftgate/Tailgate/Swing Gate: Hinge: Installation

1. Apply body sealer on the hinge to body mating surface. Align hinges with the installation reference marks made previously.
2. Remove the block under the lift gate and install the hinge (1) to the vehicle.
3. Loosely install the fasteners (2 and 3) securing the hinge to the liftgate and header panel.
4. Align the hinge with the installation reference marks made previously, on the liftgate.
5. Tighten the fasteners (2) securing the hinge to the liftgate to 8 Nm (71 lbf-in).
6. Align the hinge with the installation reference marks made previously on the header panel.
7. Tighten the fastener (3) to 30 Nm (22 lbf-ft).

8. Connect the liftgate support cylinders to the liftgate. Refer to PROP, GAS, INSTALLATION .
9. Remove lifting device supporting the liftgate.
10. Remove the masking tape previously applied to the rear roof edge.

11. Position the rear of the headliner (2).
12. Install the two push pin fasteners (3) into the headliner (2) fully.
13. Install the liftgate opening weatherstrip (1), along the perimeter of the headliner.

14. Install the C-pillar trims. Refer to PANEL, C-PILLAR TRIM, INSTALLATION .
15. Install the rear shelf panel (2). Refer to PANEL, REAR SHELF, INSTALLATION .
