Reservoir, Windshield Washer: Removal
- Turn the steering wheel to move the front wheels to the full right position.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- If equipped with a turbocharger, remove the charge air cooler. Refer to COOLER AND HOSES, CHARGE AIR, REMOVAL .
- Remove the right front wheel house splash shield. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the engine compartment wire harness connector (1) from the washer pump/motor unit connector receptacle.NOTE:
To aid in reinstallation, note the installed position of the washer hoses prior to disconnecting them from the washer pump.
- Disconnect the front and rear washer hoses (2) from the barbed outlet nipples of the washer pump and allow the washer fluid to drain into a clean container for reuse.
- Disengage the front and rear washer hoses from the integral troughs on the outboard side of the reservoir and position aside.
- Remove the two screws (3) that secure the reservoir to the inner fender shield.
- Lower the washer reservoir far enough for the filler neck to clear the engine compartment.
- Remove the reservoir from the wheel house.
