Theory Of Operation

This diagnostic determines the availability of the static indicated engine torque signal, the engine friction torque signal and the indicated driver torque request signal sent by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) via two CAN messages. The diagnostic determines the availability by checking the valid bit.
