More Than One Indicator Or Gauge Does Not Operate Test

  1. Ensure ignition switch is in RUN position. Inspect fuse No. 7. If fuse is blown, locate and repair short. Replace fuse. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  2. Check for battery voltage at sides of fuse. If battery voltage is present, circuit is okay. Go to step 3). If battery voltage is not present, repair open circuit between fuse block and ignition switch.
  3. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check for battery voltage at terminals No. 8 and 16 of instrument cluster connector "A", and at terminal No. 10 of cluster connector "B". See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONNECTOR TERMINAL ID  . See Fig 1 .
  4. If battery voltage is present, circuits are okay. Go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in circuit between fuse block and applicable terminals of cluster connectors. Repair as required. See Fig 1 . See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  5. Inspect instrument cluster printed circuit for cracks or poor contacts. If no problem is found, go to next step. If cracks or poor contact points are found, replace printed circuit.
  6. Turn ignition off and disconnect negative battery cable. Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 10 of cluster connector "A". Also check continuity between ground and terminal No. 14 of cluster connector "A". If continuity is present, circuits are okay. If continuity is not present, repair open in wiring circuit(s). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
