Manual Park Release (MPR)

WARNING:
Always secure your vehicle by fully applying the parking brake, before activating the Manual Park Release. Activating the Manual Park Release will allow your vehicle to roll away if it is not secured by the parking brake or by proper connection to a tow vehicle. Activating the Manual Park Release on an unsecured vehicle could lead to serious injury or death for those in or around the vehicle.
ACTIVATION
- Set the parking brake.
- Open the hood.
- Using a small flat bladed screwdriver or similar tool, push the MPR release tab in the direction of the unlock symbol and open the cover.
1 - MPR Cover Release Tab 2 - MPR Tether - Pull out on the MPR tether until the tether is fully extended. The MPR lock plug and tether will remain out of the MPR housing indicating the vehicle will be able to roll when the parking brake is released.
- Once vehicle is moved to desired location, deactivate the MPR.
DEACTIVATION
- Pull out on the MPR tether until it is fully extended and then release the pressure to allow the tether to retract.
- Push in on the MPR cover down until it snaps into place.
- Verify the that the transmission is actually in Park by releasing the parking brake and attempting to roll the vehicle.
