Solenoid Valves Installation
NOTE:
Place the valve body on a clean work surface supported on each end by wooden blocks with the upper half facing upward.

- Insert the park lock solenoid into the bore in the outer valve body.
1 - Inner Valve Body 2 - Outer Valve Body 3 - Solenoid Valves - Insert the solenoids straight into their respective bores in the outer valve body.NOTE:
Lubricate the solenoid O-rings with a light coating of assembly lube to prevent seal damage.
1 - Wire Connector 2 - Solenoid Connectors - Test fit the wire connector into the solenoid connectors to assure alignment.
- Remove the wire connector with care not to rotate the solenoids.
1 - Solenoid Retaining Plate 2 - Notches on Center Dog Clutch Solenoids 3 - Index Tabs - Position the valve body so the inner valve body is on top.
- Place the large solenoid retaining plate in position on the valve body with the index tabs on the retainer in the notches on the center dog clutch solenoids.
1 - Solenoid Retaining Plate - Place the small solenoid retaining plate in position on the valve body.
1 - Solenoid Retaining Plate Fasteners - Install the fasteners to hold the solenoid retaining plates to the outer valve body and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to VALVE BODY, INSTALLATION .
- Install the valve body in the transmission. Refer to VALVE BODY, INSTALLATION .
- Perform Transmission Verification Test - 948TE. Refer to 948TE-9HP48 TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
