Valve Body: Removal
- Remove the vacuum pump and mounting bracket. Refer to PUMP, ELECTRIC VACUUM, REMOVAL
.
1 - Wiring Harness Bracket 2 - Wiring Harness Bracket Bolts - Remove the wiring harness bracket.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- If equipped, remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL
.
1 - Transmission Wire Harness Connector - Disconnect the transmission wire harness connector.
1 - Transmission Wire Harness Connector Socket 2 - Retaining Clip - Using a suitable pry tool, remove the retaining clip holding the wire transmission harness connector socket in the valve body cover.
- Press the transmission wire harness connector socket inside the valve body cover.
1 - Valve Body Cover Bolts - Position a drain pan under the valve body cover.
- Loosen the bolts holding the valve body cover to the transmission to allow the fluid to drain.
- Remove the valve body cover.
1 - Valve Body Bolts - Remove the valve body bolts.NOTE:
The fluid transfer tubes may come out with the valve body.
- Using a suitable prying tool, separate the valve body from the transmission.
1 - Transmission Range Sensor (TRS) and Screw - Remove the Transmission Range Sensor (TRS).
1 - Transmission Speed Sensor Assembly and Screw - Remove the transmission speed sensor assembly.
- Remove the valve body with the wire harness from the vehicle.NOTE:
If the valve body is to be reused without disassembling it, store the valve body in a clean area until it is installed.
- If necessary, remove the internal transmission wire harness from the valve body. Refer to HARNESS, INTERNAL WIRE, REMOVAL .
