3.6L - With A/C

  1. Check condition of all pulleys.
    CAUTION:

    When installing the serpentine accessory drive belt, the belt MUST be routed correctly. If not, the engine may overheat due to the water pump rotating in the wrong direction.

  2. Install the NEW  serpentine belt around all pulleys except the idler pulley. Rotate the belt tensioner arm until it contacts the stop. Route the serpentine belt around the idler and slowly release the belt tensioner. Make sure the serpentine belt is seated onto all pulleys.

  3. With the serpentine belt installed, inspect the belt wear indicator. The gap between the tang and the housing stop (measurement A) must not exceed 24 mm (.94 in.).

  4. Connect the lower radiator hose (2).
  5. Connect the bypass hose (1) to the water pump.
  6. Install the right lower splash shield.
  7. Install the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  8. If equipped, install the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, INSTALLATION .
  9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING  .
  10. Check the cooling system for leaks. Refer to LEAK TESTING  .
