Theory Of Operation
The purpose of this DTC is to detect if Dog Clutch A is engaging during interlocked downshifts. An interlocked downshift involves both the Dog Clutch A and F, such as shifting from Ninth or Eighth gear to Fourth or Third gear.
The actual position of either Dog Clutch A or F is calculated based upon the pressure variation resulting from the dog clutch actuation. This pressure is measured by a pressure sensor. An incorrect dog clutch position is detected if the actual position does not correspond to the commanded position for greater than a calibrated amount of time
This DTC indicates a hydraulic or mechanical failure.
