Theory Of Operation

This diagnostic monitors the Input (Turbine) Speed Sensor signal and Engine Speed signal through the Controller Area Network (CAN) in order to detect conditions that could indicate a transmission that is slipping or does not engage a gear properly. This diagnostic monitors for these conditions while the transmission is in a fixed gear and during shift events. Under certain conditions, an Engine mechanical problem can cause this Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) to set.
