Line, A/C Discharge: Removal

WARNING:

Review the safety precautions and warnings in this group before performing this procedure. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious or fatal injury.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the grille. Refer to GRILLE, REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL .
  4. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system. Refer to REFRIGERANT SYSTEM RECOVERY .

  5. Remove the bolt (2) that secures the A/C discharge line (1) to the condenser.
  6. Disconnect the A/C discharge from the A/C condenser.

  7. Remove the nut (1) that secures the A/C suction line and A/C discharge line (2) to the A/C compressor.
  8. Disconnect the A/C discharge line from the A/C compressor.
  9. Remove the A/C discharge line from the engine compartment and remove and discard the O-ring seals and gaskets.
  10. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fittings and the condenser and compressor and ports.
