Control, A/C And Heater: Installation

NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under HVAC Miscellaneous Functions menu.

NOTE:

Take the proper precautions to protect the face of the A/C-heater control, center bezel and the instrument panel switch pod from cosmetic damage while performing this procedure.

  1. Position the A/C-heater control (2) into the instrument panel center bezel.
  2. Install the four screws (1) that secure the A/C-heater control to the center bezel and securely tighten.
  3. Install the instrument panel center bezel. Refer to BEZEL, INSTRUMENT PANEL, CENTER, INSTALLATION .
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
  5. Align the PROXI configuration data into the new A/C heater control following the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the HVAC Miscellaneous Functions menu.
  6. Initiate the Actuator Calibration function using a scan tool. Refer to HVAC PRE-DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE .
