Cooler, Exhaust Gas RECIRCULATION (EGR): Installation
- Clean the gasket mating surfaces.
- Using a NEW
gasket, install the EGR cooler and hand tighten the inlet tube bolts.
1 - Coolant Hose 4 - Coolant Hose 2 - EGR Temp Sensor Harness Connector 5 - EGR Cooler Bolts 3 - EGR Tube Clamp 6 - EGR Cooler to Exhaust Manifold Nuts - Install the lower bolts securing the EGR cooler and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS - EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION .
- Install the nuts that secure the EGR cooler to the manifold and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS - EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION .
- Connect the EGR tube from the EGR valve to the EGR cooler and secure the clamp.
- Connect the EGR temperature sensor wire harness connector.
- Connect the coolant hoses to the EGR cooler and secure the clamps.
- Install the tube from the EGR cooler to the EGR valve. Refer to TUBE, EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR), CROSSOVER, INSTALLATION .
1 - Small Coolant Hose 2 - Upper Coolant Hose - Connect the small coolant hose and upper coolant hose to the thermostat housing.
1 - Upper Coolant Hose Bolts - Install the upper coolant hose bolts.
1 - Oil Dipstick Tube Bracket Bolt 2 - Oil Dipstick Tube - Install the oil dipstick tube and oil dipstick tube bracket bolt.
- Install the radiator crossmember. Refer to CROSSMEMBER, RADIATOR, INSTALLATION .
- Refill the cooling system. Refer to COOLANT SYSTEM AIR EVACUATION .
