Upper Intake Manifold

  1. Remove the air cleaner resonator. Refer to RESONATOR, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the purge solenoid. Refer to SOLENOID, EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS PURGE, REMOVAL .

  3. Remove the clip (1) securing the wiring harness to the manifold.
  4. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the intake manifold.
  5. Disconnect the PCV valve quick-connect fitting (3).
  6. Disconnect the MAP sensor wire harness connector (5). Remove the wire harness retainer (4) from the intake manifold.

  7. Remove the bolt (2) securing the evaporative hoses (1) to the intake manifold, release the clip (3) and set the hoses aside.
  8. Remove the radiator crossmember. Refer to CROSSMEMBER, RADIATOR, REMOVAL .

  9. Disconnect the EGR temperature sensor wiring harness connector (1) and detach the wiring harness retainer and position aside wire harness.
  10. Remove the EGR tube. Refer to TUBE, EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR), CROSSOVER, REMOVAL .

  11. Detach the wiring harness retainer from the rear support bracket (5).
  12. Remove the rear support bracket nut (4), bolt (6) and rear support bracket (5).
  13. Remove the front support bracket upper bolts (2) that secure the intake manifold (3) to the front support bracket (1).
  14. Disconnect the throttle body wiring harness connector and detach the wire harness retainer.

  15. Loosen the upper intake manifold bolts (1) and the upper intake manifold (2).
  16. If required, remove the EGR valve.
  17. If required, remove the throttle body.
