Pan, Oil: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL .

  3. Remove the oil level indicator bolt (2) and the oil level indicator (1).
  4. Remove the cross-under pipe. Refer to PIPE, EXHAUST CROSSUNDER, REMOVAL .
  5. Drain the engine oil. Refer to ENGINE OIL SERVICE .
  6. Remove the right halfshaft. Refer to REMOVAL .
  7. Remove the bolts securing the intermediate bearing support bracket from the engine block and oil pan.

  8. Remove the coolant tube bolt (1) securing the coolant tubes to the oil pan.

  9. Remove the oil pan to transmission bolts (1).

  10. Remove the two rubber plugs (1) covering the rear oil seal retainer flange bolts.

  11. Remove oil pan mounting bolts (1).

  12. Using the three indicated pry points, carefully remove the oil pan.
  13. Remove all residual sealant from the oil pans timing chain cover, rear seal retainer and engine block mating surfaces. Refer to PAN, OIL, CLEANING .
