Seal, Crankshaft Oil, Front: Removal

  1. Remove the crankshaft vibration damper. Refer to DAMPER, VIBRATION, REMOVAL .
    NOTE:

    Take note of the front oil seal orientation prior to removal.

  2. Install the sleeve (2) from Seal Remover around the flywheel key (1) and onto the nose of the crankshaft.

    (Special tool #8511, Remover, Seal)

  3. Screw Seal Remover (1) into the front crankshaft oil seal (2).

  4. Install the extractor screw (2) into the Seal Remover (1). Hold the seal remover stationary and tighten the extractor screw against the sleeve until the front crankshaft oil seal (3) is removed from the engine timing cover.
