Pipe, Exhaust Extension: Installation

1. Install the exhaust pipe (2) and tighten the band clamp nut (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
2. Install the exhaust isolator (3) to the exhaust extension pipe hanger rod.
3. Install the tailpipe. Refer to TAILPIPE, EXHAUST, INSTALLATION .
4. Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. A minimum of 25.4 mm (1.0 in.) is required between the exhaust system components and body/frame parts. Make the necessary adjustments, if needed.
5. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
6. Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair exhaust leaks as necessary. Refer to LEAK TESTING  .
