Tailpipe, Exhaust: Installation
- Install the tailpipe (1) and tighten the band clamp nut (2) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the exhaust isolator (3) to the tailpipe hanger rod.
- Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. A minimum of 25.4 mm (1.0 in.) is required between the exhaust system components and body/frame parts. Make the necessary adjustments, if needed.
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair exhaust leaks as necessary. Refer to LEAK TESTING .
