Panel, Instrument: Installation

  1. With help of an assistant, install the instrument panel assembly (1) and loosely install the bolts (2).

  2. Loosely install the fenceline bolts (1).

  3. Tighten the side support bolts (2) to specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  4. Tighten the fenceline bolts to specifications using the sequence shown in illustration. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install the defroster grille. Refer to GRILLE, DEFROSTER, INSTALLATION .

  6. Route the wire harness through the I/P and connect the wire harness retainers. Verify the retainers fully seated.
  7. Secure the bracket (1) and install the fastener (2). Tighten the fastener to specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  8. Install the ground (1) and install the fastener on both A-pillars. Tighten securely.

  9. Connect the wire connectors (2) to the back of the Body Control Module (BCM) (1).

  10. Install the BCM (2) and install the fasteners (1). Tighten the fasteners to specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  11. Connect the cable housing (2) to the handle assembly and connect the cable (1) to the lever.

  12. Position the hood release handle back into place on the instrument panel and install the fastener (1). Tighten securely.
  13. Position the HVAC drain tube back into place and seat fully.

  14. Install the center support bracket fasteners (1) and tighten to specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  15. Install the shifter assembly and install the shift bezel (1). Refer to SHIFTER, TRANSMISSION, INSTALLATION .

  16. Connect the wire harness connector (1) to the shifter bezel (2).
  17. Install the shifter bezel (2) and boot and verify the retaining clips are fully engage into the instrument panel.

  18. Install the shift knob to the shifter and tighten the shift knob screw (1) securely.

  19. Slide the shifter boot trim ring up until the shifter boot trim ring tabs (2) snap in place to the shift knob.
  20. Pull the shifter boot (1) into place on the shifter boot trim ring.

  21. Connect the antenna leads and wire harness connectors (1).
  22. Install the instrument cluster. Refer to MODULE, INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC), INSTALLATION .
  23. Install the display screen module. Refer to MODULE, DISPLAY SCREEN (DSM), INSTALLATION .

  24. Position the ground to the stud on the right floor and install the fastener (1). Tighten securely.
  25. Connect the wire harness connectors that are found under the foot rest.
  26. Install the passenger side foot rest and seat the retainers fully.

  27. Position the cup holder bracket (2) to the I/P and connect the wire harness connectors. Install the cup holder support bracket (2).
  28. Install the fasteners (1) and tighten securely.
  29. Install the instrument panel cupholder. Refer to CUPHOLDER, INSTRUMENT PANEL, INSTALLATION .

  30. Install the lower trim (2). Install the fasteners (1) and tighten securely.
  31. Install the steering column. Refer to COLUMN, INSTALLATION .
  32. Install the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, INSTALLATION .

  33. Install the left kick panel (3) and install the fasteners (1 and 2). Tighten securely.

  34. Install the heater hoses (3) to the heater core. Install the hose clamps (4).
  35. Install the A/C suction line (1). Refer to LINE, A/C SUCTION, INSTALLATION .
  36. Evacuate the refrigerant system. Refer to PLUMBING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  37. Adjust the refrigerant oil level. Refer to OIL, REFRIGERANT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  38. Charge the refrigerant system. Refer to PLUMBING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  39. Fill the coolant system. Refer to COOLANT SYSTEM AIR EVACUATION .

  40. Connect the negative battery cable (1). Refer to CABLES, BATTERY, INSTALLATION .
