Cover, Instrument Panel: Installation

  1. Install the I/P cover (1) onto the I/P support beam (2).
  2. Route the wire harness through the instrument panel cover. Connect the wire harness connectors and wire harness retainers.

  3. Install LTE2/G4 antenna. Refer to ANTENNA, NAVIGATION, INSTALLATION .
  4. Install the center fastener (1) in the I/P cover (2) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  5. Install the I/P cover fasteners (1-5) and tighten to specifications using the sequence shown in illustration. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  6. Install the I/P cover fastener (6) and tighten to specifications using the sequence shown in illustration. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  7. Install the I/P cover fasteners (7-10) and tighten to specifications using the sequence shown in illustration. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  8. Install the I/P cover fastener (11) and tighten to specifications using the sequence shown in illustration. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  9. Install the I/P cover fastener (12) and tighten to specifications using the sequence shown in illustration. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  10. Connect the mode switch electrical connector (2) and install the mode switch (1).
  11. Install the defroster grille. Refer to GRILLE, DEFROSTER, INSTALLATION .

  12. Connect the cable housing (2) to the handle assembly and connect the cable (1) to the lever.

  13. Position the hood release handle back into place on the instrument panel and install the fastener (1).
  14. Install the Radio. Refer to RADIO, INSTALLATION .
  15. Install the Instrument Cluster. Refer to INSTALLATION .

  16. Connect the antenna leads and electrical connectors (1).
  17. Install the passenger side air bag. Refer to AIR BAG, PASSENGER, INSTALLATION .
  18. Connect the bluetooth antenna wire harness connector.
  19. Install the upper and lower glove box. Refer to GLOVE BOX, INSTRUMENT PANEL, INSTALLATION .

  20. Connect the wire harness connector (1) to the shifter bezel (2).
  21. Install the shifter bezel (2) and boot and verify the retaining clips are fully engage into the instrument panel.

  22. Install the shift knob to the shifter and tighten the shift knob screw (1) securely.

  23. Slide the shifter boot trim ring up until the shifter boot trim ring tabs (2) snap in place to the shift knob.
  24. Pull the shifter boot (1) into place on the shifter boot trim ring.

  25. Position the support brace (2). Install the nut (1) and tighten securely.
  26. Install the Body Control Module (BCM). Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL (BCM), INSTALLATION .

  27. Connect the data link connector (2). Verify the retainers (1) are fully engaged.

  28. Position the cup holder support bracket (2) and connect the wire harness connectors, if equipped.
  29. Install the fasteners (1) and tighten securely.
  30. Install the steering column. Refer to COLUMN, INSTALLATION .
    NOTE:

    When installing a tilt column, do not release the tilt lever from the locked position until after the column is installed on the instrument panel.

  31. Verify the front wheels of vehicle are in the STRAIGHT-AHEAD position.

  32. Install the kick panel (2) and install the fasteners (1 and 2). Tighten securely.
  33. Install the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, INSTALLATION .

  34. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to CABLES, BATTERY, INSTALLATION .
