Cable, Inside Handle: Removal

Open sliding door.
Remove the appropriate side door trim panel from the vehicle. Refer to PANEL, DOOR TRIM, REMOVAL .
Remove the inner door handle bezel assembly. Refer to BEZEL, INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE, REMOVAL .
Disconnect the inside handle cable (1) from the handle assembly. Gently pry cable sleeve retainer out of the handle bracket (2) and then unhook cable end from the handle.
CAUTION:
Make note of cable routing. This will prove helpful when reinstalling replacement cable. Be certain replacement cable is routed and retained correctly.

Trace the inside handle cable along its routing path and disconnect from its retaining clips.
Disconnect the inside handle cable (3) from the latch assembly. Gently pry cable sleeve retainer out of the latch mounting bracket and then unhook cable end from the latch lever.
Remove the inside handle cable from the side door.
