Doors - Front: Door: Removal

NOTE:

To protect the vehicle finish, apply several layers of masking tape on the front edges of the door and the front fender prior to loosening the hinges.

  1. If servicing the passenger side, remove the glove box. Refer to GLOVE BOX, INSTRUMENT PANEL, REMOVAL .

  2. If servicing the driver side, remove the fastener (2) from the storage bin (1).
  3. If servicing the driver side, remove the storage bin (1).
  4. If servicing the driver side, remove the Body Control Module (BCM) (3). Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL (BCM), REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the door check. Refer to CHECK, DOOR, REMOVAL .

  6. Disconnect the electrical connectors (1) and separate the harness boot (2).

  7. Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the location of the door hinges on the A-pillar to aid installation.
  8. Support door on a suitable lifting device.
  9. Remove the fasteners (1 and 2) and remove the door.
