Caliper, Disc Brake, Rear: Installation

  1. Spin the brake caliper on to the caliper hose and position the brake caliper to the caliper adapter bracket.
  2. Install the brake caliper over the brake pads and into the brake caliper adapter bracket. Use care when installing the caliper onto the adapter bracket to avoid damaging the guide pin boots.
  3. Position the brake caliper to the caliper adapter.
  4. Install the Electric Park Brake (EPB) actuator. Refer to ACTUATOR, ELECTRIC PARK BRAKE, INSTALLATION .

  5. Secure the wire harness (1) to the routing clip.

  6. Tighten the brake caliper hose (3) to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Install the two caliper guide pin bolts (1) and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  8. Connect the brake pad wear sensor wire harness connector (2) and secure the wire harness to the routing clip.
  9. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Remove the brake pedal holding tool.
  12. Remove the Electric Park Brake (EPB) from maintenance mode.
  13. Apply brake pressure several times to seat the brake pads and obtain a firm brake pedal.
  14. Perform the brake bleed standard procedure. Refer to BASE BRAKE BLEEDING .
