Adapter, Disc Brake Caliper: Removal: Rear

NOTE:

Before proceeding. Refer to CAUTION . Refer to WARNING .

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
    CAUTION:

    Never allow the disc brake caliper to hang from the brake hose. Damage to the brake hose will result. Provide a suitable support to hang the caliper securely.

  3. Remove the brake caliper from the brake caliper adapter, using a suitable device, support the disc brake caliper. Refer to CALIPER, DISC BRAKE, REAR, REMOVAL . Do not let the disc brake caliper hang by the brake hose.

  4. Remove the inboard brake pad (1) and the outboard brake pad (2).
  5. Remove and DISCARD  the brake pad anti-rattle clips (3).

  6. Remove and DISCARD  the disc brake caliper adapter mounting bolts (1).
  7. Remove the brake caliper adapter.
